Description
American colonists’ protesting of the Stamp Act of 1765 caused the Act to be quickly repealed. However, an English pottery company produced a teapot with this sentiment for several years after the Stamp Act was no longer in effect. It was appropriate, however, because the tax on tea enacted in 1773 became another sore spot in American history, and brought us closer to revolution and liberty.
Our handcut No Stamp Act silhouette celebrates that age-old American value of “No taxation without representation.” Cut from smooth black silhouette paper and mounted on chain-laid ivory paper, it is available in either a black frame with a delicate molding profile, or our hand-painted grained frame.
